Empower women in just 5 minutes

Do you dream about changing the world? Here’s your chance to make a difference, and empower women, with this social entrepreneurship competition — and it only takes five minutes to do it

MasterCard and UN Women Singapore re-launch Project Inspire

If you’ve always wanted to make a positive change for women but have never been able to work out how to do it, then you’ll be overjoyed to discover Project Inspire. All it takes is five minutes, to be precise, a five-minute video pitching your idea on how to help disadvantaged women around the world.

Jointly launched by the Singapore Committee for UN Women and Mastercard, Project Inspire is an annual competition that provides 18 to 35-year-olds worldwide a platform to pitch their ideas to help women in Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. The winner of the competition will be awarded a US$25,000 grant to implement their project.

This year’s Grand Final will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014, and will be live-streamed around the world. Ten finalists will be selected and flown to Singapore to participate in a five-day boot camp, which will culminate in the Grand Final. The boot camp includes workshops led by INSEAD and Bain & Company, which will help develop finalists’ business skills. Finalists will also be paired with a mentor, who is chosen based on their area of expertise and the finalists’ project.
