Tick tock, it’s almost time for a fun-filled weekend! So you know the drill – put on your dancing shoes, have a little too much to eat and then work it all off with some inverted yoga on Sunday.

This weekend, we’ve curated a list of activities that you should indulge in, including designing your own shoes, sway to ethereal music or jive to salsa vibes and more. Hold your pretty horses, the weekend is just right around the corner now.

Sigur Ros: Heima

Are you a big fan of Sigur Ros because we’ve got great news for you! For one night only, The Projector (we need more alternative cinemas like these)  is screening Heima, Sigur Ros’ musical documentary that was released in 2007. For the uninitiated, Sigur Ros is an Icelandic post-rock band that has been around since 1994. Known for their ethereal sounds and frontman Jonsi’s hauntingly beautiful falsetto vocals, the band incorporates classical and minimalist aesthetic elements into their compositions.

You can expect Heima to be filled with scenic visuals, as they tour the furthest flung corners of their Icelandic homeland through a series of free, unannounced concerts. On their way, they visit ghost towns, outsider art shrines, national parks, small community halls, the highland wilderness, as well as playing the largest gig of their career at their homecoming Reykjavik show. Even if you’re not a fan, you might fall in love with the stunning sights and who knows… maybe even Sigur Ros, eventually.

The Social Foot Custom Lab

Sneakers are such a joy to be in, you can walk for miles in them and not a blister in sight. Plus they are super on trend: Think Rihanna’s Puma Fenty collection, Raf Simmons Stan Smith collaboration and more. If all these exclusive sneakers excite you (remember these drool-worthy white sneakers we talked about?), you’ll be thrilled to hear that The Social Foot at Suntec City is offering FREE customisation services for your newly purchased kicks at The Custom Lab event this weekend.

You get to enjoy services such as laser engraving, stencil ID customisation, sneaker repelling protection treatment and embroidery patch service which is a thorough yes considering how hot embroidery is for this season (read: Gucci’s maximalist embroidered designs). Not only that, you can get your kicks cleaned by Jason Markk’s team. Well, we know where to find you this weekend.

Rasa Fiesta Singapura Block Party

Are you ready for the first-ever Rasa Fiesta Singapura Block Party that is happening this Saturday at Jiak Chuan Road? What you can expect is a whole slew of rum cocktails (we’ve got your boozy soul sorted out) at their street booth, or inside Lime House and Phat Cat Laundry. Accompanying your tipples are dancers, limbo games, beer pong, live Dj, workshops and delicious tacos.

You don’t even have to look for a babysitter to tend to your kids while you play because there is a special kids play area provided. How thoughtful is that? One thing to note, no cash will be used throughout the festival, instead, you would have to exchange for vouchers at the entrance.

Artisanal Market at Ikyu

On Sunday, head down to Ikyu on Yong Siak street for a respite from the city. Indulge in the artisanal market (or, have some artisanal bakes if you can’t wait for Sunday) that features fresh fruit juices (yea, that whole fruit juice ‘cleanse’ thing) that are almost too pretty to drink, premium gelato and waffles from The Flourist, homemade gifts from Little Beanie as well as Japanese foods and sake. What a great way to recharge before getting back to the daily grind on Monday, don’t you think?

The Power of Inversions with Kim Wainer

Hello there, yogi. If you’re in for a little challenge (remember alien yoga that was so hot awhile back?), then head on down to Hom Yoga on Sunday for an Inversion class with Kim Wainer (or try out these alternative yoga sessions that will leave you invigorated). A little background on her: A Sydney-based yoga teacher that started yoga since a tender age of 16 and she studied with the Brahma Kumaris daily for 10 years.

Now, if you’re prepared to challenge yourself (let these women inspire you if you’re feeling a little daunted) to an active inversion pose, you can be sure that it will help in building core strength and of course, patience.

Stay in and watch Game of Thrones Season 7

A post shared by gameofthrones (@gameofthrones) on

Now we know it’s not technically ‘something to do’ but we cannot let this weekend pass us by without mentioning the eagerly waited season 7 of Game of Thrones (besides, you get to learn life lessons from watching it).  It’s been A WHOLE YEAR since the mother of dragons graced our screens and we’re just about ready to burst.  For what feels like forever, all we’ve heard is ‘winter is coming’ and finally, winter is here. We’ve got no idea what is in store but we’re 110% planning our entire social calendar around every single episode.

So we endorse, this weekend, staying in and doing nothing except getting the milo and popcorn ready for the iconic GOT theme music to start. We’ve got chills already.
