Film trailer Katy Perry's Part of Me 3D.jpgThe first trailer for pop singer Katy Perry’s biopic in 3D, Katy Perry: Part of Me, was released April 3, offering fans a preview of the look at her rise to stardom.

The concert-documentary features Perry’s performance in concert as well as footage behind the scenes and archival images revealing her early life, as an emerging artist with a Christian upbringing.

Taking the title of her current single “Part of Me,” which shot up the Billboard chart to debut at No. 1, the film doesn’t shy away from references to topics like her divorce from actor Russell Brand.

In addition to a portrait of the 27-year-old’s life, the footage will be filled with her string of hits from “California Gurls” and “Firework” to “Last Friday Night,” with performances shot on her 124-date tour.

The pop artist has sold 50 million digital tracks and 10 million albums worldwide.

Perry told MTV: “It’s closing the chapter on Teenage Dream, but it’s giving you such an inside perspective.”

“You’re going to see it from my best friend/buddy perspective, you’re going to see exactly what I mean and feel and think about everything.”

The film is directed by Magical Elves’ Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz, who produced Justin Bieber’s 3D concert documentary, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.

At last weekend’s 2012 Kids’ Choice Awards, Perry announced the film’s release on the Fourth of July weekend to Kelly Osbourne, Ozzy’s daughter and on-air personality on the E! channel. “Go and see it and be a firework!”

The film releases in North America on July 5. — AFP RELAXNEWS
