Hipster cafes are so two years ago, give us something new!

These eight cafes are not necessarily new in town, but unless you’re a hardcore food junkie, you may have only heard of some of them. If so, you definitely need to check them out because they’re just so cute! These are our pick of the cutest cafes in Singapore to check out during lunch with the #girlfriends.

Charlie Brown Cafe

Good ol’ Charlie Brown is now a cafe landmark in Singapore. This adorable Peanuts-themed cafe offers Snoopy cakes and pastries galore – there are even pancakes with the different Peanuts characters on them, and a television screening of Peanuts television episodes that are bound to bring back fond memories of childhood.

Pokemon cafe

The Pokemon Go craze may not be as frenzied as it was two months ago, but that doesn’t make the Pokemon characters any less adorable! From Pikachu cappuccinos to various other Pokemon faces on the food, this cafe fulfills all of my Pokemon fantasies. I especially love the mugs that look like Pokeballs; I really wish I could take them home! #Cries.

Superhero Cafe

This cafe is all about our favourite comic book superheroes. The cafe is furnished top to bottom with superhero movie posters, vintage toys, character busts and other assorted paraphernalia. Munch on Superhero-themed popsicles and other savoury dishes while gazing up at this impressive collection!

Nunsongyee

The shaved ice bingsu (think Korean ice kachang) craze is not likely to die down anytime soon, especially with the growing number of bingsu eateries popping up. What makes this cafe stand out from the rest is its quaint decor and calming atmosphere, as well as the adorably artsy ways they present their dishes. If you’re all about Korean desserts, this is the cafe for you.

Hello Kitty Cafe

You really can’t get any cuter than Hello Kitty, and this Hello Kitty Cafe is cuteness overload! I’m not sure what’s cuter, the abundance of Hello Kitty paraphernalia and merchandise, its huge Hello Kitty mascot or the themed menu! The Hello Kitty themed mooncakes definitely caught my eye first. It’s absolutely adorbs! One convenient thing about this cafe is that it’s open 24 hours a day and halal certified.

Ice Lab

This winter wonderland of a cafe is perfect with Christmas just along the corner. Aside from offering six different flavours of bingsu, Ice Lab also serves churros and an assortment of other popular Korean tea dishes. Surrounded by the ice-white and wintery decor, you could almost believe you’re experiencing a Korean Christmas. I absolutely adore the little ceramic polar bears that can be found all around the eatery.

Pompompurin Cafe

Sanrio is a puppy with a tiny brown beret, who is usually accompanied by his little animal friends that include hamsters, birds and squirrels. This Japanese character is the dictionary definition of cute, and his cafe is one of the cutest there is! The entrance of the cafe has been rigged out to look like the facade of a little house, and patrons have to walk through a picturesque gate to enter. You can opt to sit under a puppy-shaped lampshade or in the “Tomodachi House” booths, which look like miniature treehouses. If this isn’t cute enough, take a look at their dishes! Whether it’s puppy-shaped sticky rice with Sanrio’s face on it or ice cream topped off with a little chocolate beret, everything this cafe offers is so #kawaii!

Characters Cafe

This particular cafe features Rilakkuma, a cute brown bear, as its main theme. While waiting for Rilakkuma-themed food in a similar vein as that offered at the Pompompurin Cafe and the Hello Kitty Cafe, patrons can look forward to being entertained by 3D animations of the character, Rilakkuma cosplay costumes and even free hugs from giant plushies (#squeals).
