Quick recap: Two months ago, we were stoked to hear that Changi Airport would be housing Singapore’s first ever Hello Kitty-themed cafe.

For those of you who have been waiting for updates, you’ll want to brace yourselves (for the long queues) because it’s official: At 11.30 am today (May 12), Hello Kitty Orchid Garden will be opening its doors to everyone – die-hard Hello Kitty fans and curious foodies alike.

About time, right? We know; but while Singapore might be late to join the Hello Kitty cafe scene, we’ll be home to the world’s first ever 24-hour Hello Kitty cafe. So even if you can’t get time off work to be there for the actual opening of the cafe, you can always go straight after work – or failing that, for supper even!

And trust us, you’ll be wanting to head down tomorrow. Besides the cafe, the Hello Kitty Orchid Garden will boast merchandise customised for Singaporeans.

That includes a custom-blend loose leaf tea and, get this, a plush toy of a double-bowed “Singapore edition” Hello Kitty mascot, of which there are only 500 pieces currently available.

If you’re worried about the menu, however, don’t be. The cafe’s menu will change every few months, which means no boredom and every reason to come back for repeat visits.

And while we’ve yet to tuck into a full meal at the cafe, what we did see (and taste) looked promising and (of course) kawaii.

So if you’ve yet to make plans for lunch tomorrow or the weekend, then you know where to go!

Hello Kitty Orchid Garden is located at Changi Airport Terminal 3’s Arrival Hall, and will officially open on May 12, 2016.
