We are all well-acquainted with the likes of Jaan, Stellar, Equinox and more, offering up panoramic views while dining sky-high. But there are still some relatively newer, lesser-known ones that also offer up some great sights for the eye. Keep it a little secret, we don’t want it to be overcrowded, do we?
For the beef enthusiasts out there, Sear is a modern American steakhouse with a lovely overhead view of Marina Bay. We love the interior to bits - Floor-to-ceiling glass panels that filters in natural sunlight, creating the illusion of space. If you’re here for dinner, Sear transforms into a dimly lit and intimate space fit for a cosy get-together.
The restaurant specialises in exceptional cuts, grilled with renowned Barcelona-based Pira charcoal ovens (the restaurant has two, flown in separa two ovens specifically in for their meats. Do try their Australian Jack’s Creek Tajima Wagyu, it’s nicely charred at the sides, tender on the inside with just an even amount of marbling.

Into late-night pastas, live jazz tunes and classic cocktails (think Old Fashion and Tom Collins)? Then Monti is the place for you.
Born out of a collaboration between the 1-Rochester Group and chef Luigi Calcagno, co-owner of Zibiru Restaurant in Bali, Monti sits where Catalunya used to be. So, you can imagine drinking in the same spectacular view of the bay and Marina Bay Sands. Piqued enough to book a dinner table? Well, you may hang onto your wallets till, say mid-July, where Marina Bay Sands’ signature night light show is slated. And do yourself a favour: Window seating is a must, for that panorama.
Foodwise, the establishment ensure that their recipes stay true to the Italian spirit - whipping up classic Tuscan dishes like the Panzanella and Fregola Frutti Di Mare.
You may not find carbonara on their menu(mainly because it’s not from Tuscany), but if you are craving for some, you may request for it to be specially prepared. Chef Luigi loves an authentic carbonara and will always love to share one with you. So here you go, made with only pecorino cheese (that’s from sheep’s milk, for the uninitiated), egg yolks and pancetta. Other standouts include their La Signora Luciana (pictured above) and Invertiti.

After a full day’s worth of savouring artworks at the National Gallery Singapore’s artwork, why not refuel at Aura Restaurant? It’ a plus for you if you like Italian as much as we do.
Case-in-point? The Uni Tagliolini, a creamy umami dish. As with most of the dishes here, it melds Italian classic with contemporary culinary skills, and everything on the menu is made with the freshest ingredients (definitely crucial for the uni). Do not belittle that portion, we promise you’ll be utterly satiated by meal’s end.
Besides, you get to soak up a panoramic view of Marina Bay sands and knock back a tipple or two by the sky lounge while waiting for service. The best time to do so will be at sunset, as it will not be as hot, and you get the best of both worlds: The skyline at dusk, and the city lights come evening.

Fancy organic Mediterranean cuisine with a stunning view? Then Artemis Grill is the place for you. Located on the rooftop of CapitaGreen, the restaurant boasts of a 15,000 square feet Sky Forest, a rooftop garden at the bar where you get to enjoy some drinks amidst a whomping willow look-alike for you Harry Potter fans.
Diet restrictions? No problem. The Mediterranean-influenced dishes are mostly gluten-free with vegetarian-friendly options, and made with ethically sourced ingredients. For seafood-philes, please do try their Grilled Octopus. Charred at the ends with a nice aroma throughout, the tangy roasted tomatoes refreshes the palate in between bites of the cephalopod.

ilLido at The Cliff
Located within Sofitel Sentosa is ilLido at The Cliff, where you will be surrounded by lush greenery and the occasional visit from the island’s free-roaming peacock.
What’s exceedingly charming is their al fresco dining area that overlooks the South China Sea. So if the weather permits, we highly recommend that you opt for outdoor seating. Just imagine, a date night dinner with the magical sunset as a backdrop? Dreamy.
Using only the freshest ingredients of the season, they change their lunch menus daily to make sure that only the best is on the table. Do order the Squid Ink Tonnarelli with Cod and Artichokes. Its base is a tangy and robust sauce made from arrabiata and tarragon, complementing the buttery cod.

If you have a penchant for colonial houses, then head straight down to The Summerhouse at Seletar Aerospace Park. Filled with wild flowers and plants in a quaint setting, the restaurant is a great place to unwind over the weekend.
You can dine at Wildseed Cafe on the ground floor, or The Summerhouse on the second. As insisted by head chef Florian, either eatery serves dishes prepared with spices, herbs and wild flowers picked fresh from their edible garden.
Try their Iberico Pork Collar, which is cured in brine, junipers, bay leaves, buttermilk, barley and then smoked, before putting it in a sous vide bath for 72 hours - making the pork collar tender and robust in flavour. We love the lemon creme fraiche and chamomile flowers that comes with the pork collar, both lends a subtle floral sweetness to the otherwise savoury dish. And yes you guessed it, all herbs and flowers are plucked from the garden. It gets pretty crowded over the weekend, so make your reservations a week earlier.
