If you’ve tried this brand’s pizza in Spain (yes, not Italy), you’ll be pleased to know that it’s now in Singapore. With 23 outlets in Spain, this is its first venture outside the country and it burst onto the local scene with two outlets open in March, and another one is planned for May. O Mamma Mia is the best place to sample different types of pizzas – and to not stuff your face with too much of it – as pizzas are only sold by the slice ($3.50 – $4.20 each). The pizza dough is made in Italy and shipped to Singapore regularly, all sauces are handmade from scratch and all ingredients are sourced from Italy as well as locally. If you’re in the mood for something sweet with a coffee, try the Pizza Nutella ($3.50), which is a crispy pizza base lavishly covered with Nutella and topped with banana slices. Mamma Mia, indeed!

This restaurant has an intimate ‘date night’ ambiance so it’s perfect for a romantic meal. There are many items to choose from but the pizzas are a must-try. Divided between ‘white’ and ‘red’ pizzas – referring to the colour of the sauce, of course – you’ll definitely go home full (and satisfied). Red pizzas include Prosciutto e Funghi (tomato, mozzarella, cooked ham, mushroom, $23), Fruitti di Mare (tomato, mozzarella, mix seafood, $25) and an enticing option for meat lovers, Pizza Carnivora (fresh sausage, bacon, honey ham, spicy salami, $26). There are fewer white pizza options but the classic Quattro Formaggi (mozzarella, gorgonzola, provolone, parmesan cheese, $24) is always a good way to go.

The food here is a blend of Melbourne and Asia – hence the name Melba – and staples like eggs benedict and chicken parma are crowd favourites. Their pizzas are available in three sizes – 9, 12 or 16 inches; you can also do a half-and-half on a 12 or 16-inch order if you can’t make up your mind. We won’t blame you though, as it certainly is hard to pick just one, with pizzas like Parma Ham and Rocket (tomato sauce, parma ham, mozzarella, rocket salad, parmesan), Chilli Crab (crab, egg, spicy tomato sauce, coriander, mozzarella) and Roasted Duck (peking sauce, mozzarella, cucumber, scallion). You could always get a takeaway and pig out on your couch at home – we won’t judge.

A casual eatery in the heart of the CBD, this pizzeria serves premium-quality Neapolitan-style pizzas. The pizzas are handmade, with premium ingredients sourced from all over the world, and are baked-to-order, in twin brick ovens. It’s also the first pizzeria in Singapore to use Caputo double-zero pizza flour from Naples. As for the name, it’s a cheeky reference to extra virgin olive oil, presenting pizzas that are ‘virgins’ ie. pure and unrefined. Signatures include Pistachio Pesto (pistachio pesto, mozzarella, baby arugula, lemon vinaigrette, pecorino, provolone, $24), Spotted Pig (tomato, mozzarella, pepperoni, pork sausage, applewood smoked bacon, parmigiano reggiano, $30) and Bufala Margherita (tomato, bufala mozzarella, fresh basil, $24). On weekdays from 2pm, UOB Cardmembers enjoy a pizza and a bucket of beer for $40++ when they dine-in (only valid for pizzas below $30++).

You don’t have to go to an Italian joint to enjoy pizza; why not try something different at this Korean café chain? Opened here in December, you’ll get items like toast-and-coffee sets, flavoured coffees and chilled beverages with whipped cream. It also serves savoury pizzas, which are ideal if you’re looking for a light meal. Try the Kimchi Roast Chicken Pizza (chunks of tender chicken breast rest on a bed of piquant fermented cabbage and spicy gochujang, on a toasted tortilla base, $16.90) or the Kimchi Cheese Pizza ($12.90), a vegetarian option which pairs kimchi and mozarella. Yes, really.
