In the age of social media, Instagram has become a great driving force for the food scene today. Nowadays, it seems like apart from tasting great, the food also needs to be photogenic. People just love seeing what others are eating and showing off their own dishes at the same time.

We have rounded up 8 places that combine the best of both worlds; sweet treats that make awesome #foodporn pictures that taste delicious as well!

1. Bloomsbury Bakers
Started by 2 friends who met at a French culinary school in Bloomsbury Square, they brought new life into the void deck of an ordinary HDB block. This quaint little bakery serves up a variety of pretty looking desserts, ranging from cheesecakes to little tarts. They also do customized cakes for special occasions.

Bloomsbury Bakers is located at 30 Bendemeer Rd, Singapore 330030.

2. Tarte
This tiny pâtisserie on Scotts Road is as straight forward as its moniker — it sells a limited quantity of artisanal tarts that are freshly baked every morning. Helmed by Les Amis pastry chef, Cheryl Koh (She was named ‘Chef to Watch’ for 2014 by The Peak Selections Gourmet & Travel magazine) you can expect to find beautiful looking tarts that will satiate your sweet tooth.

Tarte is located at 1 Scotts Road, #01-12 Shaw Centre.

3. Project Acai
Say “ah-sigh-ee”. That’s the way that it should be pronounced, instead of “ah-cai”. (Yes, guilty as charged) Project Acai is Singapore’s first dedicated cafe to this trending super food in a bid to show Singapore that eating and living healthy is not hard. Served with fruits and nuts, this enticing bowl add colour to your Instagram feed and plenty of antioxidants to your body. Now hashtag #eatpurple.

4. Dazzling cafe
If you have a penchant for desserts, I am sure you have already heard of this famous Taiwanese dessert chain by now. Finally opening its first outlet here in Singapore, the cafe is known for it’s sky high thick toast served with fruit, syrup and ice cream. Of course it would be photogenic.

Dazzling cafe is located at 15 Stamford Road, #01-85 Capitol Piazza, Singapore 178906.

5. Antoinette
This quintessential Parisian-style tea salon has expanded from its first outlet at Penhas road to 4 outlets around the central Singapore area. The latest addition to their burgeoning repertoire of desserts was inspired by the fruits and flowers of summer and their accompanying smells. So pretty I don’t think I can bear to eat them.

Antoinette is located at 30 Penhas Road, Singapore 208188.

6. Angelina
Renowned Parisian tearoom Angelina has finally found its way to our sunny shores! It offers a wide range of pastries and also serves classic French appetizers and main courses too. Be sure to try out its signature hot chocolate and the Le Mont-Blanc pastry. The elegant and posh restaurant is also a place that is super Instagram worthy; it is decorated with French accents that makes it feel just like Paris.

Angelina is located at Capitol Piazza #01-82, 15 Stamford Road, Singapore 178906.

7. O’ma Spoon
‘Bingsu’ is one of the most photographed desserts in Korea, because it’s packed with plenty of colourful ingredients that makes it so photogenic. O’ma Spoon, (which oddly enough, meant to be Oh my spoon’ said with a country-esque accent), is a locally bred establishment started by a Korean. They serve their condensed milk separately so you get to do the typical milk pouring shot for Instagram.

O’ma spoon is located at 6 Raffles Boulevard #04-102 Marina Square Singapore 039594.

8. Honey Creme
This premium soft serve ice cream created quite a stir when it opened at Somerset with its snaking queues. Soft serve with toppings always get tons of likes on Instagram! What’s more, they are backed by Korean stars like Victoria Song from f(x) and Super Junior’s Kim Hee Chul who have recommended this on variety programmes. The soft serve chain has also recently launched the pandan gula melaka soft serve to celebrate SG50.

Honey Creme is located at 313 Orchard Road, #01-37, Singapore 238895.
