Castella cakes. Warm, fluffy as cotton, and jiggly enough to look good in boomerangs.

You can get the new Milo Dinosaur ($13) and Singaporean Pandan ($11) flavours exclusively till 18 January 2018 at Ah Mah Homemade Cakes’ newest outlet in Changi Airport Terminal 3 from now until Jan 18, 2018. After that, the flavours will be available islandwide.

We tried both and enjoyed the milo dinosaur flavour more. It was a lot more moist and had pockets of milo powder baked into the batter, so you get waves of chocolaty goodness every couple of bites.

Ooooh and we loved how the crust of the cake (which was coated in milo powder) melted in the mouth.

The pandan version wasn’t as indulgent for sure, but the browned crust was utterly soft. The smell of the naturally extracted pandan was really nice, and wasn’t overwhelming at all. The cake was fluffy in the centre, and a little denser at the edges, making it a little moister than your usual sponge cake.

Remember, if you want to grab a box now you’ll need to head to Changi Airport Terminal 3. But if you don’t wanna travel that far, you’re going to have to wait till after January 18 to get it from an outlet closer to you.
