6 must-try experiential dining escapes in Singapore
Planning a romantic date out? These immersive restaurants and dining experiences in Singapore blend storytelling and world-class cuisine to give couples a fun-filled date like no other
By Elise Wong & Shazrina Shamsudin -
A romantic dinner in Singapore no longer has to be just candlelight and clinking wine glasses. Increasingly, the city’s culinary scene is embracing immersive dining – a global trend that transforms meals into multi-sensory adventures where storytelling, theatre, and atmosphere share the spotlight with food.
What does immersive dining mean?
Immersive dining goes beyond the plate. It is where cuisine meets, at times, theatre, technology, and storytelling, transforming a meal into a multi-sensory experience. Projection mapping, augmented reality, live performance, or curated atmospheres turn guests from passive diners into active participants, making every bite part of a larger narrative.
For couples, the notion of experiential dining offers an especially compelling allure: imagine feasting on bold Sri Lankan flavours at a chef’s high table, or stepping into a fantastical banquet where the table itself comes alive with light and projection.
These six immersive dining experiences prove that date night in Singapore can be as unforgettable as it is delicious.
The High Table at HighHouse
For a more intimate exploration of flavour, The High Table at HighHouse offers couples a chance to savour Chef Sun Kim’s Korean-inspired menu, available from 10 April to 27 June.
Chef Sun Kim is a Korean chef who grew up in Seoul and first learned to cook in his mum’s restaurant. He later trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Sydney and worked under Tetsuya Wakuda, before joining Waku Ghin and eventually opening Meta in Singapore — his tasting-menu restaurant that now has two Michelin stars. His food blends Korean flavours with his global fine-dining background, and for this menu he’s created six special dishes that feel familiar but more modern and bold.
Highlights include hay-smoked beef carpaccio, kingfish sashimi with pomelo and gochujang, crispy eggplant with a yuzu-kosho citrus soy, galbi-style charcoal short rib, lobster gyeran jjim (steamed egg custard), and a steak bibimbap with gochujang garlic sauce and seasoned vegetables.
Perched on the 62nd floor of One Raffles Place, HighHouse pairs its sophisticated, sensuous vibe with panoramic views of the CBD – perfect for date night.
Chef Sun Kim’s culinary collaboration with High House will be available from 10 April to 27 June.

Ginger.Lily Bar
For a different kind of sensory indulgence, Ginger.Lily Bar at Hilton Singapore Orchard, launched on 3 September, transforms cocktail culture into a multi-sensory journey.
Under the guidance of Assistant Bar Manager Michael Mendoza, the bar introduces “Synaesthesia 2.0” – a collection of cocktails (from $22) inspired by the five senses, each paired with complementary bites evoking familiar dishes such as tom yum, butter chicken, or pesto pasta.
Guests can enjoy live DJ sets every Friday and Saturday from 8pm to 11pm, as well as participate in co-creating the Cocktail of the Month through the bar’s interactive initiative, “Synaesthesia: Shaken by You.”
Cavern Restaurant
Singapore’s first cave-inspired restaurant, Cavern Restaurant, brings the wonder of Sarawak’s UNESCO-listed Mulu Caves to Mandai’s Rainforest Wild Asia. Managed by TungLok Group, this venue is illuminated by crystalline lights mimicking natural cave droplets, and the menu is a cosmopolitan blend of international flavours curated by Head Chef Sheng Lim.
Some of the dishes that you can look forward to include the Mushroom Soup, Caveman’s Meat Skewers of beef tenderloin, shallots, padron peppers, and button mushrooms, and the Wagyu Beef Burger with thick-cut fries and tangy pickles.
Perfect for romantic dinners or private events, the Cavern immerses diners in a wild yet elegant landscape where nature and gastronomy collide.
Wonderland Upside Down
For a wholly surreal adventure, Wonderland Upside Down by ANDSOFORTH invites diners to tumble down the Rabbit Hole into a theatrical, fever-dream take on Lewis Carroll’s classic.
Celebrating the company’s 10th anniversary, the experience begins at The Hatter’s Asylum with a welcome drink and DIY project before leading guests through rooms filled with animatronic creatures, playful actors, and five-course meals ranging from comforting Indian chicken korma to unconventional bites like salmon-based cat food or cream cheese ‘toothpaste’ with crackers.

Choo’s Masquerade Party: A Buffet of Hidden Agendas at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore
Following the success of Dream Academy’s The Divorce Party last year, Dream Academy returns with Choo’s Masquerade Party, a high-drama, anything-can-happen celebration at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore. Hosted by Phillippa Choo to mark her rise as the newly appointed CEO of Choo’s Plastique, guests are invited to dress to the silver-and-gold nines, don a custom masquerade mask, and grab front-row seats for a dramatic fashion runway, plus plenty of surprises and juicy reveals along the way. To top it off, expect a five-star buffet with live stations and an over-the-top dessert spread.
Tickets start at $148 for preview shows, $168 for off-peak, and $198 for peak performances, making it both a dinner and an interactive story that turns a night out into an unforgettable, laughter-filled spectacle.
