Her World Beauty Awards Event Celebrates The Best In Beauty
Jan 29, 2010 Friday, 4pm: What’s your favourite whitening moisturiser? Or your go-to mask for erasing wrinkles? We got the answers to these questions and more from you. And you definitely made your choices known loud and clear!
Over 20,000 votes were received for Singapore’s most important beauty awards via the nomination forms on herworld.com and the November and December issues of Her World magazine. With more than 650 products in 72 categories, the 142 awards is the largest number of awards that Her World has given out for our annual Beauty Awards!
A panel of experts also had their say – our judges included members of the editorial team at the magazine like Elisabeth Gwee, Her World’s editor, and Pearlyn Tham, the fashion & beauty editor. Joining them were known dermatologists, Dr Patrina Wong from Linc Aesthetic Clinic and Dr Chua Ee Min from KCS Medical Group, as well as celebrity makeup artists Peter Khor, Clarence Lee and Dily Wang.
The day’s events kicked off with a warm welcome speech from Ms Gwee, the awards presentation (which just ended!) was held in the cosy 15 Minutes, a cafe at La Salle College of the Arts. Representatives from various beauty brands received their much-deserved awards in the Readers’ Choice and Editors’ Choice categories from celebrities like model-actor Bobby Tonelli, multi-faceted thespian Chua En Lai and veteran actresses Tan Kheng Hua and Amy Cheng, paired with members of SPH Magazines – making for very interesting banter!
And if we were to ask you what beauty advertisement most inspired you, which would you pick? Judged by our internal panel, special awards like The Most Inspiring Beauty Advertisement, Beauty Innovation Of The Year, Best Newcomer and the grand prize – Beauty Product Of The Year were also given out– making the event extra special.
