Michelin releases list of budget-friendly eatsIn advance of the 2013 release of the Michelin guide’s star ranking for New York, the red book has announced its picks of good value eats in the Big Apple a list that spans 31 different types of cuisine.

On September 26, the New York City Michelin guide released the addresses for its Bib Gourmand section, restaurants chosen by inspectors for their good cuisine and reasonable prices.

Selected eateries offer two-course meals and a glass of wine or dessert for US$40 or less (tax and tip not included) and are often favorites among the locals.

This year, the Bib Gourmand section added a dozen new restaurants from 2012, expanding from 114 to 126 new addresses in 2013 which stretch from Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island.

The Michelin Guide New York 2013 drops October 3, 2012.
