We are so happy that our favourite female actress from Suits will soon be part of the royal family (but sobs as that also means she will likely not be in the US series anymore).

Yes, if you’ve heard those royal engagement rumours earlier this month – it is true!

It’s official. Prince Harry has confirmed his engagement to US actress Meghan Markle earlier this month in London. The couple have been dating for just over a year.

Wedding bells will soon be ringing for the British royal family – and it will be as early as next spring which starts from March in the UK.

The prince, who is fifth in line to throne, had informed the Queen and other close members of the royal family of his engagement, Kensington Palace confirmed.

He had also sought the blessings of Markle’s parents, who have said they are “incredibly happy” for the couple.

“Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents,” said Mr Thomas Markle and Ms Doria Ragland in a joint statement.

Prince William and Kate Middleton had this to say about the news of the engagement: “We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.”

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are “delighted for the couple and wish them every happiness”.

The engagement ring was designed by Prince Harry himself. It is a three-stone ring was set in yellow gold with a diamond from Botswana and two other gems from a brooch that belonged to his mother, Diana, who died in a car crash in 1997.

On the proposal, Meghan said it was “amazing surprise”. “It was so sweet and natural, and very romantic. He got on one knee,” Markle said. “I could barely let you finish proposing. I said, ‘Can I say yes now?'”

The couple will live at Nottingham Cottage in Kensington Palace after they tie the knot.

More details of the wedding will be announced later.
