Three-day weekends rarely appear so when they do, make sure you're utilizing it well. Take this time to relax and indulge in some time away from your email and social media accounts. When we say spend time with your loved ones, we don't mean just physically being there with your loved ones. We mean actually engaging in time spent with them.

So whether it's half a day out to the zoo or even just having dinner with them, put away your mobile devices, turn off the television and spend time with your loved ones.

Indulge in a hobby that fuels your passion

Having a hobby that fuels your passion and makes you happy is important in keeping you happy and satisfied mentally.

So whenever you get a chance, make sure to spend a few hours indulging in a hobby you're passionate about. It'll help you relax and recharge mentally.

Get active

If, like most of us, you've got an office job and very little time to head out and get active, use the long weekend to do something you normally wouldn't do.

So this weekend, make it a point to go hiking somewhere in Macritchie or try out a fun sport.
