I don’t think there has ever been a season Chanel launched a collection that didn’t make it to my lust list.

A couple of months ago, Karl Lagerfeld presented his Cruise 2016 collection in Seoul’s Dongdaemun Design Plaza where Seoul Fashion Week is held. The collection was inspired by Korean traditions, from the traditional Korean dress (the hanbok) to the super high energy Korean pop aesthetics.

There was an explosion of bright colours — think fuschia pink, coral, intense orange, royal blue, mint green and the list goes on. Needless to say, my eyes were fixed on the accessories. There were necklaces fashioned in gold or coloured metal links, baroque pendants, cuffs in tangy colours and to top it off, the iconic handbag got a flashy makeover in multi-coloured tweed and shiny sequins.

Here’s a sneak preview of what to expect in our local stores come November. Ladies, get your purses ready.
