Taylor Swift designing sneakers

UPDATE: The Taylor Swift RED collection will be available exclusively for $59 a pair in Singapore at Stadium Takashimaya Shopping Centre and Royal Sporting House at VivoCity from mid-December.

Taylor Swift is creating shoes with sneaker manufacturers Keds.

The country singer has signed a three year deal with the American footwear brand. The partnership will see the pop star design limited-edition sneakers for the company, which she’s always liked.

“I’ve been a fan of Keds for years, because they have two of my favourite elements of great style – they’re classic and effortless,” Taylor told WWD. “I remember wearing Keds as a little kid, while riding my bike around the farm.”

Taylor is well known for rocking her own individual fashion choices and ’50s inspired make-up looks. She was named an Icon of American Style by Vogue in 2011 and feels Keds sneakers compliment her look.

“When I got older, I started wearing them again [Keds]. There’s something cool about shoes that you can grow up with, I think they add something casual and cool to your look, and the new colours and patterns are so eclectic,” Taylor added. “I love pairing them with vintage looks.”
