After introducing the Limelight Twice in 2009 and the Limelight Dancing Light in 2010, the Swiss watchmaker has announced the latest variation on its iconic women’s watch. The Limelight Blooming Rose will be officially unveiled at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), the international watch trade show taking place in Geneva January 20-24.

This spectacular timepiece contains an invisible mechanism  the secret of which Piaget intends to guard closely  that transforms the design of its diamond-inlaid case over and over again like an eternally blossoming flower.

The initial version of the Limelight Blooming Rose resembles a slightly opened rosebud, with four “petals” with brilliant-cut diamond inlay. To allow the flower to blossom, Piaget has made the upper case swivel by 45 degrees. The wearer simply twists the upper case to watch the flower open into a magnificent rose with eight petals.

This jewellery watch is inlaid with 269 brilliant-cut diamonds (2.5 carats), set within the rotating upper case in 18K white gold and in the pin buckle of the black satin strap, which matches the black lacquered dial.
