Opening Ceremony and DKNY have collaborated on a new retro capsule collection featuring classic early 1990s pieces from the New York City fashion brand.

Opening Ceremony knows a thing or two about capsule collections, but this latest project comes with a time-travel twist. The international label and luxury concept store has teamed up with DKNY to revisit some of the brand’s classics from the early 1990s.

“DKNY was a pioneer of streetwear fashion in the 90’s. We have been longtime fans of the brand and were very excited to bring back select, quintessential styles that feel fresh even today,” said Carol Lim, co-founder of Opening Ceremony.

DKNY made a solid dent in 1990s street culture with its youthful and accessible twist on luxury styles. From Friday, retro-hunters will be able to get their hands on 15 re-issued styles in the new line featuring body-con silhouettes, sportswear and New York-themed streetwear.

“I have always loved Opening Ceremony. Their unique and creative point of view mixed with 90’s throw backs are very reminiscent of DKNY’s core DNA,” said Jane Chung, DKNY’s executive vice president of Design about the collaboration.

With a range of unisex tees as well as women’s dresses and body-conscious pieces, the collection starts at $145. – AFP RELAXNEWS
