Housing over 100 international brands spread across seven zones, and the Singapore flagship of Hong Kong’s award-winning cafe The Coffee Academics, the 20,000 sq ft Pedder on Scotts at level two of Scotts Square is our go-to for designer footwear and accessories, and a good cuppa of course.

And in case the first sentence haven’t clued you in, it is also the place we go to discover new brands (both new to the store and new to Singapore), which the retailer adds regularly, like these three new bag labels newly launched at Pedder on Scotts for this Autumn/Winter season:

State of Escape

The second, Australian label State of Escape, is founded by Desley Maidment and Brigitte MacGowan in 2013, and specialises in the practical carryall.

The designers first fell in love with neoprene and its qualities – strong, lightweight and soft to the touch, then set out to showcase it by pairing it with hardy sailing rope, and turning it into State’s signature perforated neoprene Escape bag. $450 to $500.

Strathberry

The last, Edinburg-based Strathberry, is by creative director Clare Robertson and managing director Guy Hundleby. The six-year-old label sells luxury leather handbags handmade by Spanish artisans with soft to the touch Spanish calf leather.

According to the brand, a Strathberry bag takes up to 20 hours to make, and a brand video showcasing the level of detail that goes into the making of a Strathberry bag has drawn comparisons to a similar video of the making of a Dior bag.

It is known for its signature bar closure (inspired by one on a vintage music case), minimalist designs, gold hardware, and accessible price points. $570 to $880.

The launch of State of Escape and Strathberry at Pedder on Scotts also marks their first brick and mortar presence here, where both brands are exclusively stocked.
