Spanish luxury label Loewe launches the Ala tote, a colourful addition to its range of Napa leather bags.

Lightweight, capacious and versatile (it can be used for work and weekend), the Ala tote keeps the style features of the Loewe Napa line and more: hand-cut zigzag details and a metal piece on its interior as decorative elements. It comes in 6 colours: black, caramel, ebony, fig (dark brown), paprika (dark reddish orange) and peacock blue.

Ala tote, $1,490, is available at Loewe, #01-09 Takashimaya Shopping Centre. The Loewe Napa line also includes Mitral, Brisa, Ana, Cielo, Viento and Aura.

• Known for its pliable, buttery softness, as well as durability, Napa leather is made from the skin of a special breed of sheep from Spain – a young Entrefino lamb – which produces one of the world's smoothest leathers.
• Chemical and colour treatments can give leather an unnatural look and feel. To counter this, Loewe immerses its Napa leather in organic dyes that absorb effectively into the skin, resulting in natural-looking and lasting leather products.
• Napa leather is one of the lightest and thinnest in the world, measuring at 0.7mm.
