I’ve always been a fan of Singapore label Ong Shunmugam, and quite frankly I was freaking out a little when we went backstage at this year’s Singapore Fashion Week to meet Priscilla, the creative genius and one-time Her World Young Woman Achiever behind the exquisite designs.

I was really impressed by her attention to detail – when we met, we found her making tiny last-minute adjustments to the rack of clothes before calling in the models to be dressed.

Watch the video to find out what the deeply intellectual and talented designer has to say about avoiding cultural appropriation in fashion, and get the low-down on her favourite traditional wear.
