Kate Middleton is terrified of fashion, according to a new report.

Kate has been thrust into the limelight since she began dating Britain’s Prince William around eight years ago. The pair are marrying at Westminster Abbey in London next month, meaning public interest in the royal-to-be is at an all time high.

As well as speculation about her wedding dress, Kate has to deal with constant comments about her appearance. She has been completing more public engagements with William lately, and is always immaculately turned out. However, her penchant for knee-high boots and long skirts has left many cold, so she is understood to have turned to Sara Buys – who is married to William’s step-mother Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall’s son – for advice.

“Kate is frightened of fashion. She’s been taken completely out of her comfort zone. She even panics about what handbag goes with what,” a source told Grazia. “Suddenly she’s realised that what she wears is a big deal. She recognises that she needs to ask for help. Sara is helping educate her.”

Sara wore a dress by Alexander McQueen to her wedding, which is thought to be why rumours have begun swirling that Kate has also chosen the renowned designer. Spokespeople for Kate and the label have dismissed the speculation, promoting renewed rumours McQueen designer Sarah Burton might be creating it on her own.

“The importance of the dress having a British provenance is the one mitigating factor against McQueen as it is French owned,” added the source. “However, Sarah is British and could easily be doing it under her own steam.” © Cover Media
