Prince William and Duchess Kate in Singapore: Royal itinerary released

Prince William and Duchess Kate in Singapore: Royal itinerary releasedAs part of the Diamond Jubilee World Tour to celebrate the Queen’s 60-year reign, Prince William and the Duchess Kate will spend eight days touring the Asia Pacific region. The royal couple will be making their first stop on our shores from September 11 to 13, before heading on to Kuala Lumpur, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.

In case you were hoping to catch a glimpse of the royal couple during their stint in Singapore, here’s what their schedule looks like so far:

Tuesday, September 11
The pair will arrive in Singapore in the mid-afternoon at Changi Airport, and head to the Singapore Botanic Gardens to be part of a ceremony where an orchid will be named in their honour. We’re hoping that the Duchess will dress to the theme and turn up in one of her beautiful floral shift dresses, complete with an eye-catching fascinator for this.

They will then be taken to view the Dendrobium Memoria Princess Diana, an orchid named after the Duke’s late mother.

In the evening, the Duke and Duchess will attend a state dinner hosted by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and President Tony Tan at the Istana, where Prince William will give an address on behalf of The Queen.

Wednesday, September 12
More flora and fauna for the royal duo as they take a stroll at the Gardens by the Bay. Members of the public will be able to catch Their Royal Highnesses as they escape the Singapore heat and admire the lush greenery under the high-tech dome.

The couple will then head to the Colonial Garden where they will be invited to plant a tree, before visiting the Rolls Royce aircraft factory in Seletar.

In the afternoon, Their Royal Highnesses will visit Strathmore Green — a residential precinct in Queenstown — where they will be treated to performances that reflect our multi-cultural society. The pair will then swing by the Queenstown Rainbow Centre, a school for children with special needs, as the Duchess has expressed an interest in learning more about the centre’s art therapy classes.

Another evening, another royally grand affair. This time the Duke and Duchess will be attending a reception at Eden Hall, residence of the British High Commissioner, before they round up their stay here the next day.

Thursday, September 13
As their last stop in Singapore, the pair will pay a visit to the Kranji Commonwealth War Cemetery, after which they will head on to their next destination for the Asia Pacific leg of their tour — Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
