1. Valentine’s Cake – Recipes here
As they say, the quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. A homemade Valentine’s cake is not only delicious, but it also proves to him that you’re willing to put in time and effort to make him smile. There’s no such thing as a specific Valentine’s cake, you only have to think about the flavours and types of cake that your boyfriend likes the most. If you can’t get around the kitchen without setting something on fire, a gift basket with his favourite cookies, snacks and sandwiches will keep his tummy full and him happy.

Don’t feel pressured to make the perfectly-painted mug, he’s going to love your added bit of personal touch no matter what! Matching coffee mugs are also a great way to jump on the couple-set bandwagon without being too over the top, like tacky couple T-shirts.

4. I Love You Because… – Tutorial here
All too often we forget to show our partners how much we love and appreciate them, and sometimes just telling them isn’t enough. Show your affection in a non-cheesy way by writing the actions and qualities that you appreciate about him, such as doing the dishes or simply just being the best boyfriend ever.

5. “Open When” Letters
This is probably the cheesiest, most “cringe-worthy” gesture ever, but it will certainly get your guy feelin’ the warm and fuzzies. A set of “Open When” letters will let your guy know that you’re there for him through the ups and downs of life, and more importantly, show that you’re in it for the long haul.

7. Lipstick Art
This is a really sweet, low-key way of leaving your mark behind and making him aware of your presence, even when you’re apart. It’s so quick and easy to make, too. The only materials you need is a photo frame, good lipstick and your kissers!

8. Pre-planned Date Nights – Tutorial here
Ever looked at each other and went “so, what do you wanna do tonight?”, only to wind up going to the same ol’ dinner and movie date? Sometimes, taking the time and effort to plan unique, spectacular dates will keep the flame alive for far longer than you’d think. They don’t always have to be grand, expensive dates, too. Sometimes just a night stroll along Botanic Gardens under the night sky can the romantic alone time you both need.

8. Why You Love Him Jar
We are 99% sure that your man’s a great guy, and he should know it! Leave him a lasting reminder by making a whole jar of wonderful compliments you wrote about him, so that he can simply pick one out for a confidence boost when he’s having a bad day. Don’t leave out any details, he deserves to know all the things that endear him to you – yes, even his rude (but super funny) sense of humor!

9. Handwritten Cards
The classic, handmade card will never go out of fashion. Men like to keep things simple, so forget about using your sparkle pens and rainbow glitter. If not, there’s a million gorgeous cards you can order online from Etsy, such as this one.
