This 1.82m-tall student, who has been modelling for two years, bagged the title of The New Paper New Face 2014. Herworld finds out from Diya Prabhakar how she keeps herself looking runway-ready.

You won! Congratulations! How do you feel?

“It is an honour to have won the title. At times, I feel like I’m in two separate worlds. In the modelling world, I’m so glammed up and it makes me feel so special. But once I’m back in school, I feel like just another student.”

You’ve got great skin. How do you keep it looking so good?

“I’m quite lucky as I don’t really get major breakouts. Since I’m young, I’m not that concerned about skin issues yet, so I have a very basic skincare routine, comprising a cleanser, a toner and a moisturiser.”

What are some of your favourite beauty products?

“When it comes to skincare, I choose gentler products for my sensitive skin. After cleansing, I use Avene Thermal Spring Water to calm my skin, followed by The Body Shop Aloe Calming Toner and a fragrance-free moisturiser. As for makeup, M.A.C is one of my favourite brands, as its foundations come in shades that match my skin tone. Besides, my skin acts up when I use makeup from other brands, so I don’t mind splurging on those from M.A.C.”

What’s the best beauty advice you have ever received?

“Never go to sleep without removing makeup, and drink plenty of water.”

What’s your routine like before a show?

“I use an exfoliating scrub on my face and body, then apply moisturiser all over. I also take my moisturisers along to shows because the air-conditioned rooms backstage tend to dry out my skin.”
