With just a picture or selfie you snap of yourself, this function allows you to try on Sephora’s huge range of lipsticks and lip glosses. First launched on the Sephora app in October 2017, it uses high tech facial recognition for this virtual makeover by scanning the user’s face to detect the eyes, lips, and cheeks for precise product placement..

The new integrated eye makeup function which kickstarted on March 28 2018 takes this virtual makeover a step further by incorporating eye makeup products into the mix too. Now, users can easily visualise how various eye makeup goodies from the likes of Kat Von D Beauty, Zoeva and Benefit Cosmetics look on them.

It doesn’t stop there. This cool Virtual Artist function also lets you create, save and name the various looks you come up with, using a combination of products from the eyes and lips categories. You can then go back to these looks for inspiration whenever you’re doing your makeup.

What we really love? The instant click-to-buy function that lets you add the product to your cart the moment you decide want it. And the cherry on top of the cake? Sephora will also have exciting gift with purchases completed in the app, so look out for that.
