The famed potential health benefits of drinking red wine make for frequent debate in the medical world, but could the tipple also be the latest big beauty trend? The launch of several boozy beauty products indicates that fans of full-bodied reds could soon be stocking their bathroom cabinets with treatments inspired by their favorite cabernet sauvignon.
Hask
Haircare brand Hask has unveiled a brand new collection dubbed ‘Unwined’, which aims to harness the antioxidant powers of the grape to treat a variety of hair issues. The red wine collection is packed with wine extract and Resveratrol, an antioxidant which is found in the skin of grapes. The collection comprises a ‘Pinot Noir Deep Conditioner’ to fight frizz, a ‘Cabernet Sauvignon Deep Conditioner’ to help repair split ends, and a ‘Red Wine 10-in-1 Leave In Spray’ that claims to detangle, nourish and smooth the hair. White wine and rose collections are also available.
